Consulting Services Overview

Our consulting services are completed by Orion Jenkins owner of Jenkins Slate Masters, Inc. 

Orion J. Jenkins started working in the slate & copper industry in the late 90's as a young teen, and has worked on hundreds of slate and copper roofs since then. He was mentored by his father Joseph C. Jenkins, a slate icon, whom is internationally renowned for his book “The Slate Roof Bible” and for his dedication to the slate roofing trades.

Orion is one of a few slate roofing contractors in the nation practicing ornamental slate installations and European, copper-flashing techniques that are replicated by few here in North America. He founded “Jenkins Slate Masters, Inc.,” a slate and copper roofing, contracting and consulting business in 2015. Orion has visited numerous slate quarries located all over the world, as-well-as European slate schools. He has attended several Slate Roofing World Championship competitions and presented at numerous Slate Roofing Contractor Association conferences. He has published written work and numerous photos in the 3rd edition of "The Slate Roof Bible" and is listed as a slate roofing instructor at "The Slate Roof Training Center". He is also a Board Member for the Slate Roofing Contractors Association of North America and on the Education committee for the SRCA. He is also a member of the National Slate Association.

Remote technical support is offered for ongoing projects where no sight visit is required. Phone, email, mail and fax support is offered for the duration of projects.

Site visits with a written roof conditions report (PDF) are the most comprehensive consulting service that we offer. The roof, new or old, will be thoroughly analyzed and a written roof report with attached photos will be emailed in PDF format to the respective client/s.

Our consulting service rates vary depending on 1) office time 2) travel time 3) time on sight. Phone and email consultations do not require a written contract.
