What Sets Our Work Apart
We work exclusively with slate and copper, no asphalt shingles, rubber roofing, or synthetic materials. That focus is the whole point. It means every project gets the traditional methods and natural materials that have been proven over centuries, installed by craftsmen who do this and only this. Our family founded the Slate Roofing Contractors Association of North America and authored the Slate Roof Bible, and we bring that depth of knowledge to projects large and small.
Copper Roofing
Copper has been used as a roofing material for thousands of years, making it one of the oldest and most proven forms of metal roofing in the world. Its exceptional durability, longevity, and timeless beauty have made it a preferred choice for historic landmarks, churches, and fine homes alike.
Double-Lock Standing Seam
Standing seam is the classic copper roof, long vertical panels joined by raised seams that are folded and locked together to shed water and stand up to weather for a century or more. The double-lock seam is the most weather-tight version, folded twice for a tighter, more durable joint. We install it on a wide variety of roof surfaces, fabricating the panels and seams to suit the project.
Flat-Lock Soldered Seam
Flat-lock soldered seam is a smooth, low-profile copper surface in which each panel is locked to the next and the seams are soldered solid. It is the technique for surfaces that need to be fully watertight at a low pitch, flat or gently sloped roofs, dormer cheeks, bay roofs, and decorative areas.
Copper Diamonds - Flat & 3D
Diamond shingles are individual copper pieces installed in a diamond pattern: flat diamonds for a clean, geometric surface, and 3D diamonds for a dimensional, textured look that catches light and shadow. They are a distinctive choice for turrets, steeples, accent roofs, and anyone who wants a copper roof that is unmistakably handcrafted.
Custom Copper & Architectural Sheet Metal
We also fabricate and install custom copper gutters, box gutters, Yankee gutters, downspouts, chimney caps, finials, and the flashings that protect every transition on a roof. Much of this is formed by hand on site to fit the building exactly. These are the details that separate a copper roof that lasts from one that merely looks the part.
Expert Consulting
If you need slate or copper roofing consultation services, we offer phone and email consultations, remote technical support, and on-site visits with a detailed written condition report. We work with homeowners, architects, preservation consultants, and insurance companies who need an expert read on a slate or copper roof: what it needs, what it is worth, and what should be done.
