OUR WORK

Featured Projects

A selection of slate and copper roofs we have built and restored. Each one was done by hand, on site, with the traditional techniques the work deserves.

What Makes a Jenkins Project

Every project on this page began with a conversation about protecting a building for the long term. Some are new slate roof installations, some feature custom copper work, and others are restorations that have brought century-old roofs back to life. What they all have in common is the same commitment to quality craftsmanship, traditional materials, and careful attention to the details that ensure every roof performs as beautifully as it looks.

Windmill

FINGER LAKES REGION, NEW YORK

Featured in a regional newspaper; submitted for an international roofing award in Slovakia. The restoration of a historic windmill - one of the projects Orion is most proud of.

Joseph Project

GREENSBURG, PENNSYLVANIA

This project features North Country Black slate, our signature woven valleys incorporating Penrhyn Purple slate, and Newfoundland Purple Bogen-style slate on the dormer walls. All flashing was executed in 20-ounce copper.

George Project

WESTERN PENNSYLVANIA

This is a new slate installation on a newly constructed home in Western Pennsylvania. The roof features North Country Unfading Black slate, with all flashings executed in 20-ounce copper.

Bates Project

CORAL GABLES (MIAMI), FLORIDA

This was a distinctive project on a historic home in the French Country District of Coral Gables, Florida (Miami). The roof features Spanish Cafersa black slate supplied by North American Slate, LLC. Select sections were detailed in traditional double-lock standing seam copper in preparation for a future solar installation. The pool house includes three-dimensional copper diamond detailing.

Diamond Tower

PITTSBURGH, PENNSYLVANIA

Conical turret featuring a 20-ounce copper diamond installation in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.

Lambeth Project

PITTSBURGH, PENNSYLVANIA

This roof features a blend of Vermont gray, green, and purple slate, along with New York red slate, installed in a staggered-butt pattern with 20-ounce copper detailing. Our signature woven slate valleys are showcased at the front entrance of the home.

The Work Speaks for Itself

We photograph our projects because the work is worth recording and because a slate or copper roof, done properly, is meant to be looked at. These are roofs built to last centuries. We are proud of every one.

Dashicons

"It is seriously like we have a modern day Michelangelo living in the GC (Grove City) area. Your work should be on art displays!"
